Jerry Bloom

We’re extremely saddened to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Jerry Bloom. Jerry was in 10 shows at City Lit, and also worked at The Goodman, Remy Bumppo, Griffin, Redtwist, Eclipse, and many other theaters around the Chicago area. He was in the original casts of Noises Off, Hauptmann and Never the Sinner, played Watson in The Sign of the Four and featured in The Hound of the Baskervilles at City Lit. He had a prolific voiceover career and was a member of Oak Park's Free Readers Ensemble for decades.

He was a marvel of a man, straight out of another era, complete with tweed jacket and stylish chapeau. Our stage lights will be a little bit dimmer, knowing he won’t appear under them again.
